What to Serve with Chicken Gallaba

Side Dish #1: Chicken Gallaba is a Lebanese thick stew. Usually, a stew is served with the Perfect White Vermicelli Rice. Form a bed of rice on your plate and top it with Chicken Gallaba. You can also place them side to side.

How About Making Some Changes!

Side Dish #2: Let’s upgrade the regular rice dish and follow the pilaf method. The key step in Simple Pilaf Rice is to sauté uncooked rice in butter. Then, you add hot water and you cover the pot.

You can cook the rice at very low heat on the stove or in the oven until liquid is absorbed. It is recommended to use long-grain white rice that will get a toasty flavor and less sticky individual grains. Its texture is light and fluffy.

Side Dish #3: Persian Saffron Rice is another option to surprise your guests with your special skills. It is a fancy yellow basmati rice dish. It is made with basmati rice cooked in saffron infused chicken broth.

Side Dish #4: Another option is a pasta dish. Choose the form that you like and enjoy the taste. Bon Appetit!

Let’s Try a Chicken Ghallaba Sandwich!

Side Dish #5: My brother is my favorite guest! But he is not a fan of rice. So, I prepare for him Best Creamy Hummus with Tahini. I spread some on pita bread. Then, I drain some Chicken Gallaba and spread it over hummus. He just loves the combination. Give it a try!

Side Dish #6: Are you a fan of garlic and chicken? Prepare a dollop of garlic paste, or toum as it is referred to in Arabic. What a great addition!

So, spread some paste over pita bread or taco bread. Then, add a load of chicken gallaba. Do you like it more garlicky? Dip each bite in garlic and enjoy lip-smacking flavors!!

Chicken Gallaba Variations

The main protein in my recipe is indeed chicken. But you can also try it with lamb meat, beef meat, or even shrimp.

Go ahead and call it Lamb Gallaba, Beef Gallaba, or Shrimp Gallaba. Follow the same steps but sear the meat strips or shrimp instead of chicken. Heavenly!

My recipe calls for red, green, and yellow bell pepper. The mix of colors is appealing. But if you do not have them all, you should not worry. Choose the one you have. You need to adjust the quantity to get the perfect taste!

Canned mushrooms is a great option for Chicken Ghallaba. However, fresh mushrooms is an excellent idea too. They have a meaty taste that enriches your dish.

Tomato paste is a staple in most Lebanese stews. You can enrich the flavor with some canned tomatoes. Fresh diced tomatoes can work too. Give it a try!

Chicken Gallaba is mainly about sautéed veggies. So, you can add some broccoli, cauliflower, or zucchini strips. Adjust it to your liking and satisfy your tummy with a healthy yummy dish!

However you choose to do, it will have a tender texture with mingled flavors!

Absolutely! Chop them the size you want the way you like. Do the same for chicken. Cut the breast into cubes instead of strips to keep a consistent harmonious shape.
